Completion

2 min read
I do so many sketches and studies trying to make my process faster, better. I'm thinking once a day, I should try and actually FINISH something( whoa there!). To take the time to bring it beyond a well defined sketch; into the realm of completion.

Anybody have any really short fiction they would like illustrated?!

Suddenly, I have been going nonstop. Self enacted/directed/disciplined. I can't believe I'm actually sticking with it actually, but I'm hellbent on pushing my artistic abilities to some 'next level' where ever that may be.
I've been making art my whole life, and all the while I've been skipping by with a Cliff's notes version of foundational knowledge. One day I just woke up and couldn't UNsee all the shortcomings in my own work. Old pieces that I used to think were brilliant were glaring broken images. But I wanted to know why... so I went a'searchin.

Art school is expensive! But art isn't made by the educated, its made by the dedicated.

Ever heard of khanacademy.org ? That's one of the first things I found. There are hours and hours of video discussions about historical art pieces throughout the world. FOR FREE! Go enrich yourself without needing to be rich! Not to mention you can learn tons of the maths there as well. Anyways, its a good resource, and its great to have an auditory tour through the periods of art while you toil away! Maybe you're doing a master study that they've done a video for!

:)
